Securaplane has been selected by Embraer to provide the emergency lithium-ion battery system on the Legacy 450 and 500 aircraft.
Securaplane’s lithium-ion battery system is comprised of emergency batteries featuring integral charging, monitoring and control electronics. The Securaplane battery system offers significant advantages in weight reduction and life cycle costs.
Securaplane has designed and manufactured aviation batteries for over 15 years. Currently, Securaplane emergency and mainship batteries are installed as standard equipment and through STCs in several corporate and regional aircraft platforms. The Securaplane content on the Embraer Legacy 450 and 500, consisting of emergency lithium-ion batteries, is valued at approximately $10M for the life of the program.
