SECURAPLANE TECHNOLOGIES AND LUMINATOR TEAM TO OFFER
WIRELESS CABIN LED LIGHTING
 Securaplane Technologies and Luminator have signed an agreement to jointly offer a wireless cabin LED lighting system to the business and commercial aviation markets.
Mood lighting is one of the features now being sought for the long haul airline market. Lighting in the cabin can significantly change the mood of the cabin which contributes to passenger comfort and can work to alleviate passenger jet lag.
Cabins are equipped with a lighting system based on LED technology, which allows the changing of cabin ambience, through a combination of colors and light intensity. Each lamp is digitally controlled by a wireless controller for a continuous and gradual shift of color. This shift can be programmed to gradually match the destination time and lighting, so that passengers are pre-exposed to destination times and conditions.
The cabin crew controls mood lighting via the wireless control panel. The control panel has menu of lighting effects such as sunset, relaxation and other preset programs. During each flight service such as meal time, watching movies or sleeping, the cabin crew selects a particular mood lighting effect to provide greater comfort.
Luminator has fielded the first FAA certified and flying all-solid state LED Enhanced Cabin Light System (ECLS). Securaplane has developed the first, and to date the only, flight essential wireless system in operation with airlines. Securaplane's wireless systems are currently flying on over 1,500 aircraft.
Luminator has been designing and producing lighting for the aerospace industry for more than 65 years and has been used by major OEM's throughout the years including Boeing, Bombardier, Cessna, Dassault, Embraer, Gulfstream, Learjet, Raytheon and Sikorsky, to name a few.
