Securaplane has developed a commercial aviation ready
RF engine for intra aircraft data transmission.
Why Wireless?
- Reduced weight
- Reduced installation or assembly time
- Reduced operating cost
- Increased reliability
- Increased level of diagnostics
- Flexibility for "wireless" future feature additions
We intend to offer our engine to other avionics suppliers and integrators for applications such as:
- Cabin lighting
- Cabin temperature, oxygen or humidity monitoring
- PSU controls
- Pax temperature and pressure monitoring
- Cargo smoke and temperature detection
- Systems health monitoring
- Lavatory or cargo smoke detection
- Attendant-to-cockpit alert
Why Securaplane?
One of a kind experience in essential wireless intra-aircraft communications systems.
Securaplane has developed the first, and to date the only, flight essential wireless system in operation with airlines.
Our wireless systems are currently flying on over 1,500 aircraft. Our experience in wireless intra-aircraft communications for critical systems will enable us to successfully meet the challenge of cost, performance and compatibility expectations of our customers.
Our solution yields interior configuration flexibility, proven installation labor savings, and other advantages. For this feat we were awarded "Aviation Week & Space Technologies" Innovative Product of the Year Award in the year 2000.
In addition, we have frequently been through the FAA certification process and know what it takes to successfully navigate it. Our existing wireless smoke system is certified to DO-178B level C.
This experience incorporates many years of lessons learned with battery and charging systems. Our patented charging design provides optimum charging to the battery that ensures long life. Our expertise and experience wireless, secondary and primary batteries, and charging of secondary batteries will provide success in providing wireless solutions for many applications.
Securaplane is offering an advanced concept wireless RF control and communications system that can be custom designed for multiple applications. The RF control and communication unit with self-contained rechargeable battery can command/control many devices and interface with cockpit display systems. Our design concept is heavily influenced by our lessons learned from our wireless and battery technology experience.
Lessons Learned
Our unique experience in wireless intra-aircraft communications over the last six years will benefit our customers by avoiding costly mistakes in design and certification of our wireless system.
Our design incorporates lessons learned such as the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) parts. We found that it is nearly impossible to guarantee availability of any industrial grade COTS part other than for generic devices such as transistors, logic gates, and a few popular microprocessors. Any design incorporating industrial (COTS) parts must have pre-planned obsolescence countermeasures built in to prevent major redesign or recertification ramifications.
We support our products and our customers, as evidenced by the following SWA testimonial attesting to the proficiency demonstrated by the Securaplane team.
"I would recommend the Securaplane cargo fire protection system based on its cost, simplicity of installation, and performance.Securaplane must be respected for their willingness to bring to market new and novel technologies such as spread-spectrum wireless communication. Their persistence toward continual improvement, combined with their excellent customer support, makes them a valued supplier to me."
