The Hawker 43 AH “pure lead” main ship battery
is now PMA’d for use on DHC-8 in both Canada and the U.S.
 On 3 June 2004, an EnerSys/Hawker Sealed Lead Acid battery was PMA'd on DHC-8 aircraft in the U.S. Previously, it had been PMA'd for the same aircraft in Canada. Unique features of the Securaplane designed Hawker battery is that it is a direct replacement for the existing Ni-Cad battery and does not require any modification to the existing charging system or battery temperature system on the aircraft.
