FedEx selects the Hawker 18Ah "Pure Lead"
Main Ship Batteries for their commuter fleet of 253 Caravans and
for all new ATR-42/72 aircraft.
In February, 2004, FedEx selected the EnerSys Hawker 40 Amp-hour and 18 Amp-hour Sealed Lead Acid Batteries for use on their commuter fleet of 253 Cessna Caravans and for all new ATR-42/72 aircraft being introduced into their fleet . The reason Fedex converted from other SLA battery types was that the EnerSys Hawker battery was the only SLA battery able to outperform Ni-Cad batteries in cold as well as hot conditions. Fedex also reduced battery types in their fleet from five batteries to two.
Note: EnerSys' line of Hawker main ship battery products are not affiliated with Raytheon Aircraft Company's line of Hawker aircraft.
- EnerSys' line of Hawker Main Ship batteries offer significant performance enhancements compared to other sealed lead acid and Ni-Cad batteries. Features include:
- 99.99% pure lead construction for enhanced life and performance.
- 30 month full replacement warranty on batteries after installation, 24 months storage prior to installation.
- Ships fully charged and ready to install.
- Reblockable at less than the cost of a new battery.
- True "no maintenance" battery.
- Hot and cold performance far exceeding that of any other aviation battery.
