SECURAPLANE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES
NEW DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER NOW STC’D ON
DASSAULT FALCON 900 SERIES
 Securaplane Technologies Inc., the recognized leader in aircraft electronic security solutions for over 15 years, is pleased to announce the completion of Canadian certification for the new Digital Video Recorder (DVR-01) on Dassault Falcon 900 series aircraft. US certification is in process and is expected to be complete during the fourth quarter of 2003.
The DVR-01 is a stand-alone recorder that also seamlessly integrates with Securaplane’s aircraft security and video camera systems. The DVR-01 replaces Securaplane’s successful tape-based REC-09 security event recorder.
The DVR-01’s user configurable wavelet compression engine can digitally archive up to six hours of video data that is retrievable via an integrated Ethernet port for remote access and playback. Images are directly accessible allowing the user to jump to time-stamped and text labeled images in an instant. The addition of a composite video output and full discrete transport control provides the flexibility to interface with any aircraft cabin management system.
At 3.0 lbs (1.32kg) and with a small mounting footprint, the DVR-01 needs little space and with no need for the user to access the recording media, can be installed in locations that are typically off-limits for video recorders. The DVR-01’s low cost also makes it a viable option for commercial airline security and flight test / scientific mission applications. The first installation of the DVR-01 was completed in February 2003 and production units are now shipping. The DVR-01 is DO-160D qualified .
