Securaplane Technologies Inc., the recognized leader in electronic aircraft security solutions for over 15 years, is pleased to announce the presentation of the U.S. Commerce Department's Export Achievement Award.

A ceremony was held on the grounds of their manufacturing facility near Tucson, Arizona. Grant Aldonas, U.S. Department of Commerce Undersecretary for International Trade presented the award to Dick Lukso, Securaplane's General Manager and President.

"For American manufacturing, you are what we have to be" Aldonas said.

The award recognizes businesses which have benefited from the export services of the Department's Commercial Service. "What you're seeing is a company make use of its own initiative and the network of agencies available," said Grant Aldonas. "It's a mindset. The tools are there for small companies to become exporters right off the bat." he said.

Known for technological advancements, Securaplane provides products in at least six countries. After a plant tour, Aldonas stated that Securaplane represents a model for companies around the country which want to make exporting work. He said the company is a successful exporter because it is willing to cooperate with government entities and is small enough to take advantage of government assistance.

"Securaplane was in the global marketplace long before they met the Department of Commerce." Stated Aldonas. "Our job was really to augment that set of contacts. To build on the relationship and network that we can provide with our services to create new opportunities."
