Securaplane has received
Aviation Week and Space Technology Magazine's
Technology Innovation Award for 2000.

On November 14, 2000 Aviation Week and Space Technology Magazine awarded Securaplane Technologies with its prestigious Technology Innovation Award for the year 2000. Securaplane received the award for its fire detection and suppression system (ST3000) which operates using spread spectrum technology. Richard Lukso, Securaplane's President and a pioneer in the use of spread spectrum technology in aviation, received the award on behalf of the company at AvWeek's Long Beach banquet. Mr. Lukso is spearheading the development of other Securaplane products using wireless technology. These types of products allow for better reliability and less weight on aircraft.

Securaplane's ST3000 system eliminates single point failures associated with wired systems. This system is also less costly and lower weight than the traditional wired systems and installs in approximately half the time. There are currently over 1,000 ST3000 systems installed on aircraft around the world.

Securaplane Technologies, Inc. is a designer and manufacturer of main aircraft battery chargers, wireless aircraft smoke detection/reporting equipment, electronic aircraft security systems, airborne video cameras, 1500 VA inverters, in addition to emergency power systems. Securaplane is based in Tucson, Arizona.
