For Immediate Release

Securaplane has received PMA certification for its
XL2411 Emergency Battery System -
A Sealed Lead Acid Replacement for
Existing ½ ATR "wet" Ni-Cad Batteries

On October 31, 2000, Securaplane received a Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) for its XL2411 emergency battery on Gulfstream III, IV, Boeing 747-100/200/300/SP, DC-9 and DC-10 aircraft.

Securaplane's XL2411 is a PMA'd replacement for the Saft 12101, Marathon CA-154-1 and Marathon CA-154-2 Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cad) batteries. Securaplane has an 8110-3 available for operators to replace the Marathon CA-154-3A unit with the XL2411 under an FAA "337".

Sealed lead acid batteries never require deep cycling and are not affected with "memory" or voltage depression. There is no need to remove the batteries from the aircraft to perform capacity check.

Securaplane is a designer and manufacturer of Airborne Video and Security Systems, Emergency/Main Ship Batteries (featuring sealed lead acid technology), Battery Chargers and Inverters, Wireless Technologies, including smoke detection/suppression systems, and Collision Avoidance Systems for aircraft ground operations. Securaplane is based in Tucson, Arizona.
