For Immediate Release SECURAPLANE DELIVERS INDUSTRY’S FIRST MINIATURE AIRBORNE VIDEO CAMERA SYSTEM TUCSON, AZ – 16 June, 1999 – Securaplane Technologies L.L.C announced today the delivery of the aviation industries’ first miniature video camera system. The innovative product, known as CAM-10, is a 1.5 lbs. low-profile, aerodynamic package containing four high-resolution, low-light monochrome cameras. The CAM-10 is installed on the aircraft fuselage to provide 360 degree high-definition views of the area around the aircraft including landing gear, engines, etc. The CAM-10 – and its sister color camera product, CAM-11 – are used for security, safety, ground maneuvering, and in-flight entertainment. Although capable of stand-alone operation, the CAM-10 is a plug-in option to Securaplane’s System 450 and 500 Electronic Aircraft Security Systems. In its security mode, the CAM-10 is activated when an intrusion is detected. The affected zone is recorded for subsequent viewing by the aircraft’s crew. Three CAM-10 systems were delivered. Two systems went to Raytheon Systems Company for Boeing Business Jet installations and one system was delivered to ASB Avionics and Associated Air Center for installation on a VIP B767. "Our reputation for delivering high-quality, intelligently-designed avionics has contributed to our success in introducing the CAM-10"; said Mark Lukso, Securaplane’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. "The industry’s response to Securaplane’s video camera product line has been overwhelmingly positive". "It was a team effort all the way"; added Jim McCann, Securaplane’s product manager for airborne video imaging systems. "We were able to go from initial concept to production in less than 16 weeks". Securaplane offers a complete video camera suite for security, safety, flight test and in-flight entertainment including external viewing zoom cameras, vertical fin mounted cameras, and internal cabin viewing cameras.
