For Immediate Release Securaplane has received PMA for installation of its ST3000 Wireless Smoke Detection System on Boeing 737-300 series aircraft for "D" to "C" class lower cargo compartment upgrade On November 30, 1998, Securaplane received a Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) for its ST3000 Wireless Smoke Detection System for installation on Boeing 737-300 aircraft for "D" to "C" class lower cargo compartment upgrade. The Securaplane wireless smoke detection system reduces installation time considerably from wired systems. It can be installed on the aircraft during an overnight (approximately 80-100 man hours), significantly reducing major aircraft downtime compared to hardwired systems. Other advantages include comparative low cost and fast replacement of sensor heads or batteries (less than 10 minutes) and reduced weight (50-75 lbs. over a wired system). Securaplane's wireless fire detection system eliminates single point failures associated with wired systems and, if desired allows monitoring when the aircraft is unmanned, down to the individual sensor head. This system also allows wireless maintenance diagnostics external to the aircraft. The Securaplane system will also provide maintenance with specific component status in plain English on an alphanumeric readout. Wireless smoke detection contracts include Southwest Airlines, as well as UPS, Airborne Express, DHL, Emery Worldwide (J.F.A.T. Joint Freighter Airline Team), and Sun Country Airlines. Securaplane is a designer and manufacturer of emergency power systems, main aircraft battery chargers, electronic aircraft security systems in addition to wireless aircraft smoke detection/reporting equipment. Securaplane is based in Tucson, Arizona. For more information contact Securaplane at: 10800 N.
