For Immediate Release Securaplane Technologies successfully completes all certification flight testing of its ST3000 wireless cargo smoke detection/suppression control system on Boeing 737-300. On September 12, 1998, Securaplane successfully completed all certification flight testing (Boeing 737-300) for its wireless cargo smoke detection and suppression control system, with the FAA Program Manager in attendance. STC planned for mid October, 1998. The Securaplane ST3000 wireless smoke detection system reduces installation time considerably from all wired systems. It can be installed on the aircraft during an overnight (approximately 70-100 man hours), reducing aircraft downtime compared to hardwired systems by 50% or more. Other advantages include comparative low cost and fast replacement of sensor heads or batteries (less than 10 minutes). The ST3000, as installed on the B-737-300 is over 100 lbs. less than the published Boeing Service Bulletin. Securaplane's wireless fire detection system eliminates single point failures associated with wired systems. This system also allows wireless maintenance diagnostics external to the aircraft. The Securaplane system will also provide maintenance with specific component status in plain English on an alphanumeric readout. Wireless smoke detection contracts include Southwest Airlines, UPS, Airborne Express, DHL, Emery Worldwide (J.F.A.T. Joint Freighter Airline Team) and Sun Country Airlines. Securaplane is a designer and manufacturer of emergency power systems, main aircraft battery chargers, electronic aircraft security systems in addition to wireless aircraft smoke detection/reporting equipment. Securaplane is based in Tucson, Arizona. For more information contact Securaplane at: 10800 N.
