For Immediate Release Securaplane has received a PMA for a main ship battery charger system for installation on Boeing DC-10 and MD-11 aircraft On February 21, 1997, Securaplane received Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) its BC-1302 main ship battery charger for installation on Boeing DC-10 and MD-11 aircraft. Securaplane has a contract with FedEx to retrofit its fleet of DC-10, MD-11 and MD-10 aircraft with Securaplane's BC-1302 main battery charger. The Securaplane BC-1302 charger incorporates advanced technology to provide increased reliability, efficiency, reduced size and weight as well as significant diagnostics. Securaplane's BC-1300 series chargers are available for both AC and DC aircraft. The BC-1300 series chargers will increase battery life, reduce battery maintenance while providing significant data on battery and charger status. Securaplane's BC-1300 series main ship battery chargers contain a patent pending method to ensure that the battery receives the optimum amount of charge for all temperature conditions combined with various battery states of charge. Previous charging methods set the charge energy based solely on cell voltage. This led to either over-charging or under- charging the battery. Securaplane is currently supplying battery chargers to Bombardier for its CL-604 and Regional Jet aircraft and Northwest Airline's and Air Canada's DC-9 fleet of aircraft. Securaplane holds a PMA for the installation of both the BC-1300 main ship battery charger as well as the SAFT ULM batteries on DC-9 aircraft. Securaplane is a designer and manufacturer of emergency power systems, aircraft electronic security systems, wireless smoke detection systems as well as main ship battery chargers. Securaplane is based in Tucson, Arizona. For more information contact Securaplane at: 10800 N.
